General Information
GCB Computers is located at 863 W Gordon Ave, in Layton, on the corner of Gordon Avenue & Main Street (in the Enterprise Car Rental building). Hours vary from Monday through Saturday, no Sundays (we are open Monday thru Saturday, 10am to 6pm). These are part time positions for as much as 30 hours per week (sometimes more during peak seasons). We will provide on-site training for all new hires. We cannot offer a healthcare plan or any retirement benefits. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is always a plus.
General Requirements
- Must 18 or older;
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent;
- Must demonstrate basic computer knowledge;
- Must be able to work independently;
- Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math;
- Must pass a background check.
Work Schedule
- 6 to 8 hour shifts
- Day shift
- Monday thru Friday
- Saturday availability
Computer Technician (Entry Level)
Starting Pay: $12 per Hour
Pay rate can be negotiated depending upon relevant work experience, training and other proficiencies.
Job Description
Build, refurbish and test PC based desktop and laptop/notebook computers using new and/or previously owned components. Install operating systems and other necessary software. Prepare any defective/unusable parts for recycling. Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized work area. Answer phone calls, texts, and emails. Perform any other duties that may arise as needed.
Additional Requirements
- Required: General experience with computer software and/or hardware.
- Preferred: At least one year previous work experience in computer repair or related area.
- Preferred: Appropriate training in computer repair, programming, etc.
Sales Associate
Starting Pay: $12 per Hour
Rate is negotiable based upon relevant work experience in computer related sales and support. This is an hourly pay rate only; we do not work on commission.
Job Description
Assist customers with the purchase of their items in a courteous, timely and accurate fashion. Stock the showroom and keep the sales area organized and clean. Answer phone calls, texts, and emails. Accurately list online ads. Perform any other duties that may arise as needed.
When not performing sales/showroom duties, the associate will also work on computer system (desktops and laptops), tearing down computers, and installing necessary software.
Additional Requirements
- Required: Experience with computer operation and usage, including software installation.
- Preferred: At least one year previous work experience in sales or customer service.

Your pay is NEVER based upon sales ($$$) amount
We offer the highest quality service to all our customers. We do not pay commission; our sales staff get paid the same whether they sell a $60 laptop or a $2,000 gaming system. This allows us to be completely honest with our customers and ensure that they get the best computer for their needs without exceeding their budget.
