About Us
George Buchanan started GCB Computers in May, 2016, with a pallet of computers. After that, he started buying computer parts at yard sales and thrift stores, building computers out of those parts and reselling them. Son Chase began helping with this hobby soon after. As it often goes with these things, a hobby becomes a “side hustle” which becomes a business opportunity which becomes a full fledged ongoing business concern.
Soon, George and Chase were doing this full time. In July of 2017, Daughter Bernadette joined the team. By May of 2018, what was once a simple hobby was now a fulfilling, fun, family business.
This hobby has grown into an actual ongoing business concern with retail space open in Layton for nearly six years now (since August of 2019). We recently moved to a new retail space on Main Street. Our original retail store/warehouse on Gordon is closed; everything is now in one location! (Including our server & service shop which, as it turns out, was NEVER on Gentile. Go figure.)
With your support, a lot of hard work, and maybe just a touch of good fortune, we will still be providing quality, dependable refurbished computers for the next five years as well … even longer!
